Our Mission To connect leading business women in private and public sectors to facilitate opportunities for individuals, organizations and society. Our Vision WBC promotes business networking and encourages the sharing of resources among members to create business opportunities and support members in greater personal and professional achievements. Singapore-based and globally linked, we also exist to encourage professional women to meet the challenges they face in furthering economic development and prosperity within their communities and across their regions. WBC facilitates these via the exchange of experience, skills and knowledge amongst members and within linked networks, as well as through its various programmes including mentorship, education and leadership. Our History In 1985, an Asian Institute of Management (AIM) regional study of 3,000 women in business and professionals revealed the need to run specially designed training programme for women managers. A subsequent meeting in Manila, Philippines, in 1987, of senior women in business, professions, and academia resulted in the foundation of the Women for Women Foundation Asia. ASEAN nations, including Singapore, formed their own Women for Women Association (WOW) organisation. WOW Singapore was formed in 1987. With the view of expanding its horizons, WOW Singapore was transformed into Women’s Business Connection in December 2001, with a wider scope of objectives, mission and vision. About Our Logo The WBC logo is inspired by the Chinese character for people, connected by two overlapping strokes, to symbolize our organization's essential mission: connecting people. The energetic sweep and vibrant colours as well as the forward-motion capture the dynamism, style and self-assurance of today's women. |
